Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

The sunset in Santorini is a truly enchanting and world-renowned experience. Santorini, with its distinctive volcanic landscape and picturesque coastal towns, offers a captivating backdrop for the setting sun.

As the day draws to a close, the sun descends towards the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over the island. The sky becomes a canvas of vibrant colors, ranging from fiery oranges and pinks to soft pastel hues. The unique topography of Santorini, with its iconic whitewashed buildings, blue-domed churches, and rugged cliffs, adds to the magical ambiance.

One of the most popular spots to witness the sunset in Santorini is Oia, a charming village known for its breathtaking vistas. From vantage points such as Oia Castle or along the cliffs, visitors can soak in panoramic views of the Aegean Sea, the caldera, and the surrounding islands. The sight of the sun gradually dipping below the horizon, painting the sky with a stunning array of colors, is a truly awe-inspiring moment.

Stop 2

The craters of the volcano are located on two small islands made entirely of black lava. Those are known as Palea Kameni and Nea Kameni.

Stop 3

The Castle of Oia, also known as the Castle of Saint Nikolas, dates back to the 15th century & was built during the Venetian occupation as a defensive fortress.

Constructed mainly of lava bricks & stones with a volcanic origin on one of the highest spots of the caldera, the ruins of the castle consist of exterior walls that overlook Santorini's cliffs and the sea, cave houses, and other traditional buildings. Most houses have been fully renovated and are used as accommodation facilities. A part of the castle's old watch tower remains intact, although many structures were destroyed due to an earthquake in 1956.
A small chapel that is carved into the volcanic rock and overlooks the Aegean Sea. also lies in the area. It is dedicated to Saint Nikolaos and was constructed around 1450.
