Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Our first stop takes us to Cueva de las Maravillas, a spectacular natural site where you will delve into the history of the Taínos, the island's first inhabitants. This majestic cave houses centuries-old cave paintings, illuminated to enhance every detail of this preserved heritage. Upon exiting, you will encounter iguanas, emblematic inhabitants of the region, roaming freely in a protected area.

2

Continue your discovery of La Romana by immersing yourself in the daily life of Dominican workers with a visit to an underwear factory. Away from traditional tourist circuits, this stop offers you an authentic immersion in a workshop where you can learn about working conditions, manufacturing processes, and workshop organization. A unique moment to better understand an essential part of the local economy.

After this cultural experience, we head to La Caleta, a place untouched by mass tourism, cherished by Dominicans for its warm atmosphere and authenticity. We will enjoy freshly caught Dominican fish, prepared with typical local flavors, in a restaurant offering a stunning view of the Caribbean Sea and Catalina Island. Far from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas, this peaceful setting is the perfect place to savor a moment of relaxation and fully immerse yourself in the local culture.

Stop 3

After lunch, head to Altos de Chavón, a unique architectural gem perched above the Chavón River. This 16th-century Mediterranean-style village charms visitors with its cobbled streets, stone buildings, and wrought-iron balconies. Located within the prestigious Casa de Campo, it offers spectacular views and a timeless atmosphere. Accompanied by our guide, you will enjoy a guided walk with detailed explanations about the history and architecture of the site. Take this opportunity to capture postcard-worthy photos.

We will end the day with a visit to an artisan chocolate factory, 20 minutes far away from Altos de Chavon, where a representative will explain the cocoa transformation process, from bean to bar. A tasting session will allow you to savor local flavors, and you will have the chance to take home some sweet treats as souvenirs.
