In the morning, our driver/guide will meet you at 8:00am then transfer to Dazu Rock Carvings and need 120 minutes driving, 100KM.
A famous world heritage site, the Dazu Rock Carvings refer to all the grotto sites in Dazu County, which cover several large scenic areas. Today, our guide will accompany you to tour the well-preserved Baodingshan Carvings. There are green buses taking you to Baodingshan directly. You will see that mountain cliffs are densely scattered with Buddhist and Taoist statues as well as celebrity figures from the late Tang Dynasty (618 - 907). You can wander at your own pace to have a close look at the precious grotto art.
After lunch, you will be transferred back to Chongqing city for a further exploration in Ci Qi Kou Ancient Village. As the other must-see of your Chongqing day tour, Ci Qi Kou is a folk village with a far-reaching history of more than 1,000 years. Well-preserved architectures of Ming and Qing Dynasties are lined on both sides of the alleys. While you are roaming along the narrow lanes, dazzling snack vendors, craftwork shops and tea houses showcase a lively scene. For delicacy hunters, they should not miss the chance to taste the famous Chen's Mahua (Chinese fried dough twist). Alternatively, enjoying a cup of tea at a local tea house is also a nice choice.
