Detailed itinerary

1

This trek might be long (ascent and descent take about 8-9 hours), but is crowned with the most beautiful view of Mt. Kazbek 5054 m. It is also an excellent opportunity to conquer 3096 m Caucasian peak. The trail starts and ends in the village Sno, which is 9 km from Stepantsminda. We will go there by 4x4 car from our office. We will return in the same way. The route is a series of traverses of hills overgrown with grass and with flowers (such as rhododendrons). At the peak of Angel Mountain we will find ruins of a fortress and a small chapel, the place of an annual pilgrimage of the inhabitants of the surrounding villages. From there we can see a fabulous panorama of Caucasian peaks and little villages with Mount Kazbek above all. This trekking is not technically difficult, but it is a long day, so you have to be fit enough. You should take water and snacks. You must be prepared for changeable weather. Bring a jacket and something in case it rains. You must also have trekking shoes.
