About this experience

Immerse yourself in the capital of Santo Domingo city on this walking tour about 3 minutes away from the colonial zone. During this half-day excursion, follow your local guides born and raised in these areas to view some of the local hidden places, hop on a "Carro De Concho" (typical transportation method) going through the heart of various neighborhoods of the Dominican capital, stop by our hood sign, visit the studio where many dembow hits have being produced, visit a typical house, help our locals cook typical Dominican food or taste typical Dominican patties (homemade food is offered with reservations for two persons and above), Dominican ice cream (helado de fundita) and enjoy the fantastic views of Santo Domingo from above our cable car and ride our modern metro.

Detailed itinerary

At this point it will be time for us to visit the studio where many dembow hits have been produced by local and international artists.

Our tour will continue for you to feel like an authentic local getting on a typical "Carro de Concho" transportation method used since the 70s by most of the hard-working Dominicans and where we will tell you about its history. This car will take us through the heart of various neighborhoods of the Dominican capital seing changing type of colorful houses and buildings, driving by one if the most important rivers of Santo Domingo and visiting to our local sign.

We will meet at the corner of Duarte and Mexico Av. right in front of the China town wall and from there we will start our immersive journey to the insides of Santo Domingo visiting one of the most visted flea markets in the entire Dominican Republic. During this part of the tour our guests will taste some Dominican snacks, hear the history around this area and be able to feel the vibes of the locals while in their daily affairs.

We should be hungry by this time and this will be the right time to accompany Amada to cook in her home inside our neighborhood where we will taste authentic Dominican homemade food and a Dominican Ice Cream as a dessert.

The journey continues a little later towards the cable car and metro of Santo Domingo where you will enjoy the view while seeing Santo Domingo from a completely different point of view.
