Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

The main attraction of the park is a volcanic crater 1.5 kilometers in diameter and 558 meters deep, "El Boquerón". It is estimated that it was created after a strong eruption in 1917, which destroyed part of some municipalities, such as San Salvador, Nejapa or Quezaltepeque. In Playón, on the outskirts of San Salvador, you can see remains of the lava that it expelled. Inside the crater there is another smaller one, "Boqueroncito".

El Boquerón has a cool temperate climate throughout the year. The park is home to many plant species identified as ornamental plants, such as "cartridges", hydrangeas, wild sultanas and begonias, among others. The most numerous species of animals are armadillos, raccoons, deer, foxes, among others.

2

Picnic Steak House, a restaurant where you will be able to taste a delicious barbecue and a wide variety of food, while enjoying a beautiful view from the top of El Salvador.

This restaurant is not only famous for its delicious food, but also because both adults and children can spend a happy time there, as they have different games, such as their famous and colorful “Imagine Slide”, a giant slide or slide that It will fill you with adrenaline.

The National Palace of El Salvador is located in the historic center of the capital city of El Salvador. It is a two-story building, of a predominantly neoclassical style, although it has some Renaissance and, to a lesser extent, Gothic decorations. Its gates and other bronze and iron decorations are in the art nouveau style. For all these reasons, it would not be unreasonable to say that its architecture is eclectic in nature.

5

The National Library of El Salvador or simply BINAES is a national public institution in El Salvador, it was rebuilt by the Government of El Salvador with the cooperation of the Government of the People's Republic of China on November 14, 2023.1 It is located in the Historic Center of San Salvador on one side of Plaza Gerardo Barrios, in front of it is the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Salvador and to its left is the National Palace of El Salvador. The former Francisco Gavidia National Library (1870-2021) and the buildings of the Banco Hipotecario and Rodríguez Porth were located on the original site. The new BINAES includes auditoriums, a national art collection and the General Archive of the Nation, which was previously in the National Palace of El Salvador
