Stop 3

Lake Chuzenji is Japan's highest natural lake, located just west of Nikko and is part of the Nikko National Park. It formed about 20,000 years ago when neighboring Mt. Nantai erupted and its lava flow dammed the Daiyo River. The lake tips the altitude scales at 1,269 meters.

The almost 100 meter tall Kegon Waterfall (FEDE,
Kegon no taki) is the most famous of Nikko's many beautiful waterfalls. In fact, it is even ranked as one of Japan's three most beautiful falls
