An incredible overnight hike to Tugela Falls in the Drakensberg Mountains. Tugela Falls also known as the Amphitheatre Hike is one of South Africa’s most popular hikes. And for a good reason. Tugela Falls is regarded as the longest multiple drop waterfall in the world with a total drop of 938 meters.
We spend the night either sleeping in tents underneath the stars or in a cave overlooking the National Park. Experience a landscape like no other. The Drakensberg Escarpment extends for over 200kms with an average drop of 1000m throughout.
Take a swim in the Tugela River to cool off after the 7km hike. The hike also involves the use of chain ladders or a more difficult route known as the gully.
