Shinkyo Bridge (神橋, Shinkyō), which means "Sacred Bridge," is one of the most famous and picturesque bridges in Japan,
Shinkyo Bridge is part of Futarasan Shrine (二荒山神社), a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deities of Nikkō’s three sacred mountains—Mount Nantai, Mount Nyoho, and Mount Taro. The bridge marks the entrance to the sacred area leading up to the shrine.
