Pay respects at the Mountaineers’ Cemetery, where the stories behind the stones bring Zermatt’s mountaineering history to life.
From here, cross the iconic Kirchbrücke bridge for one of the best Matterhorn viewpoints in the area. A stop at Fuchs Bakery & Café gives you a taste of a local snack before you wander into Hinterdorfstrasse, the oldest part of Zermatt with traditional wooden houses. Your walk ends at Kirche St. Peter’s, a peaceful reminder of Zermatt’s spiritual roots.
