Detailed itinerary

The tour begins at Larissa train station in central Athens, where you will board the train at 07:57 towards Kalambaka (Meteora).

You will enjoy a picturesque train journey through the beautiful Greek countryside and at around 12:00, you will arrive in Kalambaka.

Stop 2

Your driver will be waiting for you with a sign showing your name to begin your tour to the greater area around the site of Meteora in a minibus.

The tour will give you the chance to learn about the history of the monasteries, hear about the stories and legends, make brief stops to enjoy the breath-taking panoramic views, visit the ancient hermitages of Badovas and two of the monasteries.

Stop 3

Walking along river Aspropotamos and see the bridge of Agios Vissarionas.

At the end of the tour, the bus driver will leave you back to the centre of Kalambaka, where you will have around an hour of free time to walk in the town center and/or enjoy a meal. The train for Athens departs at 18:20.

The departure is from Athens Central Train Station (Larissa) at 07:20 hrs. we advise arriving 30 minutes prior to train departure. The tour does not include pick-up and drop-off from/to the majority of the hotels in Athens city center. Upon reservation, we will send you the train tickets.
