This is a unique national park because it is the only place where you can see, smell & feel the volcanic resources of the more active volcano of the country. Walking through this incredible forest, with ancient trees and wildlife such as monkeys, agouti, coati mundi, birds, snakes, and much more.
First, you will enjoy the volcanic stuff like the fumarolic lagoon, the natural pools of hot water (Not for a swim), the mud pools called Pailas de Barro, and other resources. The trail goes through some rivers to enjoy the sound of the water and also the beauty of the scenery.

One of the trails of the national park Rincon de la Vieja, Pailas trail. Is about 2 h to 3 h the whole trail walking through different kinds of forests full of wild landscapes, views, nature, old trees, and more. As an active volcano here you will have the unique opportunity to enjoy and feel the wild natural volcanic resources such as the fumarolic lagoon, little crater volcano, and mood pools are part of the experience that you will get during this tour, all these resources are just to see and enjoy, this is a national park for that reason is just walking through the magnificent active volcano in Costa Rica. From Liberia, you drive all the way to Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Once you arrive there, you park in the national park's parking lot, and the guide will be waiting for you at the park's reception right in front. You can use the bathrooms and then we'll start the hike to discover Costa Rica
A National Park ticket is included, the guide will give the ticket to the Ranger park at the national park. National park tickets are just by reservation.
