The excursion starts from your hotel, airport, or meeting point. After a 1 hour ride, you will arrive at the little Medieval town of Ston where you will have a nice walk on the Ston city walls. After this walk of around 30 minutes, we will proceed toward the salt works. You will learn about the technological process of obtaining sea salt and its excellent quality. When the tour finishes we will drive to Klis castle before Split around 1h 30m.
Built into the limestone bluffs outside of Split, the imposing Klis Fortress(Tvrdava Klis) was once an important defensive stronghold between the Mediterranean and the Balkans. It housed the seat of many Croatian kings, though nowadays it’s better known as the film location for the fictional city of Meereen in the series Game of Thrones. This attraction you can see in 1h 30min. After we need to drive 30min to the center of Split.
After Klis 30-45min you start the tour at the Split Riva, the promenade of Split. Through the Bronze City Gate, you enter the basement of the palace. The vaulted cellars are intact and very well preserved after more than 1700 years. Then you move on to the sacral part of the palace, the Perystil, and the Cathedral, which was once Diocletian's mausoleum. The pagan temple of Jupiter became a baptistery in the 7th century. You will walk along Cardo, the former main street of the palace, and admire the Golden Gate. Then you can have lunch, coffee or drink around 2h45m. After that, we meet at the drop zone and return to the hotel around 2h and 30min. Also, if you need some extra we are flexible to make your trip be perfect.
When you come from the pile gate out please walk straight 50m after you will see the entrance to the hotel Hilton garage.
