Maria-Theresien-Platz is a large public square between Ringstrasse and the Museumsquartier. Facing each other from the sides of the square are two twin buildings, the Natural History Museum and the Art History Museum. Square is decorated by the grand statue of empress Maria Theresa.

The Ringstrasse is a circular grand boulevard that serves as a road around the historic central part of Vienna. Ringstrasse replaced the medieval city fortifications in the second half of 19th century. Today it is a beautiful complex of grand buildings including City Hall, Parliament, Burgtheater, Vienna State University, State Opera and many more. Historic Ring Road style is using elements of Classical, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Ringstrasse is designated by UNESCO as a part of Vienna’s World Heritage Site.
