The tour begins with a one-hour trip to a somewhat unlikely site, a Polish cemetery. Visitors will learn about the little known history of some 5,000 refugees who arrived in Tanzania after fleeing Europe during WW2. We then proceed to Mangalia Waterfalls where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool waters that flow down from Mount Meru. On the way back down we will have a closer look at Tanzanian culture by exploring three villages, Akheri, Patandi and Mavinuni. This is followed by a short stop at Lake Duluti, where we will enjoy a drink and the lake view for 20 minutes before returning to the meeting point. Clients may arrange with us for additional activities at the lake (canoeing, sport fishing etc.) if they so wish.
Travellers will visit the Polish cemetery and learn a little about the 5000 refugees who fled from Europe to Tanzania during World War II. They will then ride through the Tengeru area for about 30 minutes as they head up to the waterfall. Along the way they will have a glimpse of everyday life in African villages and farming communities as well as a chance to try local food.
Mangalia Waterfalls is in Akheri village. There is a short walk from the road down to the falls where visitors can enjoy a swim in the refreshing pools of mountain water.
Here visitors can relax and enjoy a lakeside drink at the end of their tour. For those who wish to do so, additional activities such as canoeing and hiking can also be arranged with us.
