Paseo de Doña Blanca, also known as El Pasaje de Doña Blanca, is a charming pink alley located in the heart of Puerto Plata. The alley is a tribute to the founder of the city's first hotel, Hotel Europa. The history of this alley dates back to 1898 when Isidoro Rainieri and Bianca Franceschini, both from Italy, established the Hospedaje del Comercio, which later became the Hotel Europa.

Today, the Paseo de Doña Blanca is a vibrant and colorful tourist destination, visited by travelers from all over the world who come to admire its unique beauty and take pictures. Visitors can relax and enjoy the view while sipping on a glass of wine from one of the many restaurants and bars nearby. The alley is conveniently located just a few meters from the famous Umbrella Street, making it easy to find and explore.

Fifi Jewelry Amber Museum is one of the most visited places in Puerto Plata. Inside, it hosts one of the biggest resin exhibitions in the Dominican Republic. The country has the most important amber deposits in the world; moreover, blue, green or warm honey colours are unique from this area due to its volcanic activity.

Here, you can discover the history of this vegetal-origin precious stone. One of the most important stones of this museum is a 40cm lizard conserved inside a piece of amber. This resin can hold prehistoric fossils of plants and little animals on its inside due to its sticky nature, that turns this stone in subject of study. It is said that Steven Spielberg was inspired by this museum when he was working on his famous film Jurassic Park.

4

Puerto Plata's Central Park is a must-visit attraction, renowned as the Plaza of Independence by Dominicans. This beautiful park is a symbol of national pride, built to honor General Luperón who gifted the park to Puerto Plata when it was the Dominican capital. Its prime location offers easy access to various historical buildings, including the Cathedral of San Felipe Apóstol, the Casa de la Cultura, and the Municipal Town Hall. Moreover, the park's lively atmosphere makes it the perfect place to immerse yourself in Dominican culture and enjoy local cuisine and beverages from the surrounding restaurants and bars.
