Portraits in front of the Arc.
The Arc de Triomf is a triumphal arch. It was built as the main access gate for the 1888 Barcelona World Fair. The arch crosses over the wide central promenade of the Passeig de Lluís Companys, leading to the Ciutadella Park.
We walk along this spacious, atmospheric promenade from the Arc de Triomf to the Ciutadella park, taking photos along the way. This promenade was named after president Lluís Companys. He was a Catalan politician who served as president of Catalonia from 1934 and during the Spanish Civil War.
