The tour starts between 8:00 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. (depending on your hotel location). Your first stop will be the majestic Cathedral of St. John the Divine, one of the largest cathedrals in the world. At this point, you will have a few minutes to get off the bus and admire this imposing Gothic structure.
After boarding the bus, you’ll head to Harlem, not without stopping at the renowned Columbia University, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world. You will walk through its beautiful campus and learn about the rich history and outstanding contributions of this university to society and culture. It will be an opportunity to appreciate the academic beauty and intellectual atmosphere of this renowned institution.
Continuing the tour to Harlem, you will stop in the Morningside Heights neighborhood, north of Manhattan, to visit the Tomb of General Grant Memorial, from where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Washington Bridge. The highlight of the tour will be attending an authentic gospel Mass at Memorial Baptist Church, known for its moving choirs and infectious spiritual atmosphere. After the inspiring gospel Mass, you will return down Fifth Avenue. Along the way, you will have the option to leave the tour and explore the different museums found on this famous avenue, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the Guggenheim Museum. If you decide to continue the tour, it will end at 34th Street and Sixth Avenue, opposite Macy’s, one of New York’s iconic department stores. From there, you can return to your hotel on your own or continue enjoying the wonders of the Big Apple.
