About this experience

If you're looking for a spectacular hike in Rio de Janeiro, don't miss the Two Brothers (Dois Irmãos) sunrise hike.

Our guide Maira was born in Vidigal, and she will be delighted to tell you her story. This guided hike offers you a unique experience, combining nature, history and breathtaking panoramas.

The experience begins with the famous motorbike taxis which will take you to the start of the hike. You will walk for around 40 minutes to arrive at the summit just in time to witness a breathtaking natural spectacle, with the sun's rays lighting the sky in golden and pink hues. You will be able to capture incredible memories with panoramic views of the beaches of Leblon and Ipanema, the Tijuca forest and the famous Sugarloaf Mountain.

Accompanied by a passionate local guide, you discover the region's rich ecosystem while learning about Carioca culture.

Detailed itinerary

Hiking route:
1. The hike begins at the bottom of Vidigal. From there, our guide will meet you to accompany you to the entrance to the trail. The guide will stay with you throughout the hike.
2. The trail is relatively short (approx. 45mins round trip). We take the time to enjoy the many viewpoints that present themselves throughout the route.
3. Halfway, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the sea and the famous beaches of Leblon and Ipanema. We will continue our climb, and we will reach the summit of Deux Frères, which culminates at around 340 meters. The view from the top is simply incredible and ideal for memorable photos.
4. Once at the top, we will take the time to appreciate the landscape before heading back down. The return route follows the same route as the outward route, giving you a new perspective on the magnificent surrounding nature. Where you will have the opportunity to observe rich fauna and flora.
