Start your day with a pickup from the port of Naples or your hotel. Once aboard your vehicle, you’ll travel to the ancient city of Pompeii. Famous as the city that was buried under volcanic ash after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii is now one of the largest and best-preserved complexes of ruins in Italy. See its highlights on a 2-hour tour with a guide, and wander through the historic streets to see old Roman baths, villas, and the forum. Leave Pompeii after the tour and head up Mount Vesuvius, traveling at an altitude of 1,000 meters. How you spend your free time at the crater is up to you; you can request a local mountain guide at your own expense. Later, you’ll return to Naples where your tour ends with a drop-off at your original starting point.
