Detailed itinerary

1

Our first destination is the charming town of Konjic, renowned for its breathtaking natural surroundings, notably the serene Neretva River. Immerse yourself in the town's rich history as we delve into the captivating Old Town. This historic quarter is adorned with architectural gems and notable landmarks. We'll also visit the Konjic Old Bridge, a beautiful Ottoman-era bridge that spans the river, offering a perfect vantage point to admire the tranquil waters and the surrounding scenery. The road from Sarajevo to Konjic will take approximately one hour, allowing you to enjoy the picturesque landscapes along the way.

2

After our exploration of Konjic, our journey continues to an extraordinary historical site - Tito's bunker. Located just a short 20-minute drive from Konjic, this fascinating attraction offers a glimpse into the military history of Bosnia and Herzegovina during World War II and the Cold War era.

Tito's bunker, officially known as the Atomic War Command (ARK) or ARK D-0, served as a top-secret underground facility designed to protect the country's political and military leadership in the event of a nuclear attack. Built in the 1950s under the leadership of Marshal Josip Broz Tito, the bunker remained hidden and operational until the 1990s.

As we arrive at Tito's bunker, we'll embark on a guided tour that takes us deep into the underground complex. Explore the labyrinthine tunnels, discover the command center, and witness the meticulous planning and engineering that went into creating this secret refuge.

3

Continuing our cultural odyssey, our next stop is the town of Jablanica, located just a 30-minute drive from Konjic. In Jablanica, we'll delve into the history of the region at the Museum of the People's Liberation Struggle, also known as the Battle of the Neretva Museum.

The museum is dedicated to preserving the memory of the significant events that took place during the People's Liberation Struggle in World War II, particularly the Battle of the Neretva. This historic battle was fought in the surrounding area and played a crucial role in the resistance against occupying forces.

As we arrive at the museum, we'll have the opportunity to explore its exhibits, which showcase artifacts, photographs, and documents from the battle. Gain insights into the heroic acts and sacrifices made by the local population and partisan forces in their fight for freedom.

4

After visiting Jablanica, we'll continue our journey to Mostar, approximately 45 minutes away. In Mostar's Old Town, we'll explore cobblestone streets, visit shops, markets, and landmarks such as the Stari Most (Old Bridge) and the Karadoz Bey Mosque. The Stari Most is a UNESCO World Heritage site, an iconic Ottoman-era bridge spanning the Neretva River. The Old Bridge Museum provides insights into its construction and history. The Karadoz Bey Mosque showcases exquisite Ottoman architecture. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Mostar's Old Town, capturing memorable moments along the way. The duration of our visit will ensure a comprehensive exploration of the Old Town's highlights.
