Detailed itinerary

1

Our adventure will begin in Sarajevo, where we'll embark on a scenic drive with stunning landscapes on the way to Konjic Bridge. After approximately one hour of driving, we'll arrive at our destination. The Old Stone Bridge is a rare example of classical Turkish Bridge building, connecting the banks of the Neretva river for centuries since 1682. Despite being destroyed by retreating German troops on March 3rd, 1945, its reconstruction began in 2004 and was inaugurated on May 23rd, 2009. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the beauty of this historic bridge and its surrounding natural beauty.

2

Get ready for a journey through history as we make our way to Jablanica, just a 30-minute drive from Konjic. Here we will witness a piece of history firsthand - the ruined old train bridge, a haunting reminder of the Battle of the Neretva. As you take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains, you'll learn about the significance of this bridge, which played a crucial role in one of the most significant battles of World War II. It's an experience you won't soon forget.

3
Stop 3

Our next stop is the historic town of Mostar, a 40-minute drive from Jablanica. Nestled in a deep valley of the Neretva River, Mostar was developed in the 15th and 16th centuries as an Ottoman frontier town. As you explore the town, you'll see the iconic Old Bridge, Stari Most, and the charming old Turkish houses. Unfortunately, during the 1990s conflict, much of the historic town and the Old Bridge, designed by the renowned architect Sinan, were destroyed. But thanks to UNESCO and the effort of the locals, many of the buildings have been restored or rebuilt. Today, the Old Bridge area is a stunning example of a multicultural urban settlement, showcasing pre-Ottoman, eastern Ottoman, Mediterranean, and western European architectural styles.

4
Stop 4

As we continue our journey, our next stop is the enchanting town of Blagaj, located just 20 minutes from Mostar. Here, we will discover the Blagaj Tekija, a 600-year-old dervish monastery that was founded during the peak of the Ottoman Empire. Nestled at the foot of a majestic cliff and overlooking the source of the Buna River, the Blagaj Tekija is a captivating and picturesque complex of buildings that simply must be seen to be believed. While the ravages of time and rock slides have resulted in extensive repairs and reconstructions, the site still retains its unique beauty and allure. Get ready to be transported to a different time and place as we explore this magical location.

5

Our journey continues as we head towards the historic urban site of Pocitelj, which is located about 30 minutes away. This unique settlement is listed as a UNESCO heritage site, and thanks to recent reconstruction efforts, it has been restored to its original form. As we explore the town, you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time. The ancient walls, narrow streets, and stunning architecture all tell a story of a bygone era, and you'll be transported to a world that is both fascinating and enchanting.

6
Stop 6

After a full day of discovering the rich history and culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we will end our journey at the stunning Kravica Waterfall, just a 30-minute drive from Pocitelj. Take a moment to absorb the natural wonder of the cascading water and lush green surroundings. If you visit during the summer months, don't forget to pack your swimwear for a revitalizing swim in the clear waters.

Before we head back to Sarajevo, you can have a chat with your guide about stopping for a delicious dinner on the way back. Don't miss the chance to try the famous Bosnian lamb, a mouth-watering local dish. This is the ideal conclusion to a day filled with adventure and exploration in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Keep in mind that the journey back to Sarajevo will take approximately 2.5 hours.
