A tour on a bike is the best way to get to know winter Heidelberg. Our tour shows the famous old town and the beautiful Christmas markets with time to linger. At a relaxed pace, we are in the middle of it by bike and also come back comfortably to the starting point at the Heinsteinwerk.
Our way back takes us through the Wilhelminian style western town, which shows us a Christmas tree here and there through the windows of the illuminated living rooms as we drive past.
The first Christmas market of many awaits us here. It is located right at the gate to the old town and adds Christmas flair to the busy atmosphere of Bismarckplatz.
This is probably the best place to photograph Heidelberg Castle, the Neckar and the Old Town. After a short stop on the banks of the Neckar with a view of the castle, we cross the river over the Old Bridge and enter Heidelberg's old town.

At Universitätsplatz there is the largest selection of culinary delights, as well as handicrafts from the region.
The second market on the tour is in the middle of the old town. This is where the ice rink is located, which is very popular every year.
