This 1-day Tanzania Safari gives you an opportunity to discover the authentic Northern Tanzania with a unique touch of both cultural and environmental experience. You will start your safari in Moshi where you will visit Materuni waterfalls, the Chagga village and Chemka Hot springs both situated in the foothills of the Mount Kilimanjaro.

Materuni village is situated at the base of Kilimanjaro National Park. During this excursion, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the local traditions and customs of the Chagga people. You will learn about their coffee-growing and processing methods for personal use. Additionally, you will visit a coffee farm, where you can pick coffee beans and participate in the preparation of your own locally brewed strong coffee.
Following the coffee experience, you will embark on a 30-minute hike to reach Materuni Waterfalls. These magnificent falls cascade down from a height of about 80 meters, and they are fed by the freshwater drainage originating from Mount Kilimanjaro. This will provide you with a chance to explore the beauty of nature and even indulge in swimming in the refreshing waters of the waterfall.
Transportation 1 - 2 hours to Rundugai Chemka
The ride to the Kikuletwa Hot Springs is through partly over bumpy slopes. First, we go past sugar cane plantations, then we come to the African scrubland. Dried riverbeds, baobab and acacia trees accompany us on our way.
The hot springs of Kikuletwa, also known as Chemka Hot Springs, are close to the village of Rundugai and are one of the most beautiful places in Tanzania to relax. The small pond is surrounded by palm and fig trees with winding roots and the crystal clear, turquoise water invites you to a refreshing bath. Although they are called hot springs, the water in Kikuletwa is not truly ‘hot’ but refreshing, as the water source is fed by Kilimanjaro itself.
