The wedding between Duke George of Bavaria-Landshut and the Polish king's daughter Hedwig in 1475 was one of the greatest historical celebrations in the Middle Ages. The multi-day, elaborate celebrations have been recorded in great detail by chroniclers.
The Stadtresidenz Landshut is a palace in the middle of Landshut's old town, which was built under Duke Ludwig X in the years 1536 to 1543 and later used by various nobles for residential purposes. It is generally regarded as the earliest work of High Renaissance architecture north of the Alps to refer to Italian models.
