Then visit Sakkara, located just 27 km southwest of Cairo. Visit the Step Pyramid (built for King Djoser), it is considered an important part of the evolution process of the pyramid, which was made from the simple mastaba to its widely known form.
Then visit the city of Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, home to the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great alabaster Sphinx. This city dates from the year 3100 B.C.
