About this experience

Sail in the waters of the Adriatic, departing from the Gargano port of Vieste and reaching the Tremiti Islands.

Arrived you will disembark to discover the small town of San Nicola, the "Salizada" connects the port to the village where the Benedictine Abbey of S. Maria a Mare stands, which attest to the importance of the strategic position of the Tremiti Islands over the centuries.
Or you can reach the Island of San Domino, a paradise where you can admire the biodiversity of flora and fauna, getting lost among small coves and picturesque views. From here you will start exploring Cala Matano, Cala degli Inglesi, Cala Tonda and especially Cala delle Arene, sandy and with a more generous size than the others.
Included in the price there is a boat tour between the islands, lasting about 1 hour, which shows by sea the coast of the main islands with a stop in one of the most picturesque coves.
Our crew will be at your disposal for any information

Detailed itinerary

1

The island of San Nicola, the "Montecassino of the Adriatic", the only example of an abbey-fortress on an island, has been a crossroads of cultures and religions for millennia which have made it an extraordinary example of dialogue between various eras. You cannot get to the Tremiti and not visit the ancient village.

2

San Domino is the largest of the archipelago of the Tremiti Islands and certainly the most beautiful for the landscape aspects, called by the friars "The Garden of Paradise"; It is covered by a characteristic pine forest of Aleppo pines, which can be easily visited by following the equipped paths, passing through the typical plants of the Mediterranean scrub such as myrtle, rosemary, phillyrea, mastic and juniper.
Cala Matano is a beautiful natural inlet which, descending overhanging the sea, leaves a small cove on the bottom, which can be accessed from above thanks to a path. Its name comes from the duchess of the same name. It is equipped with umbrellas and deck chairs.
Then there are Cala dello Spido, Cala degli Inglesi, Cala dei Benedettini, Cala Tamariello and Cala Tonda, beautiful to see because it forms a suggestive lake.
Cala delle Arene is the only sandy beach of a certain size in the Tremiti archipelago.

3

The tour of the Tremiti Islands lasting one hour and with a stop for a swim (weather and sea conditions permitting), will circumnavigate the 4 islands, San Domino, San Nicola, Cretaccio and Capraia, to discover the most suggestive.
