Detailed itinerary

Tour starts at agreed time from the meeting point or hotel. From Baku to Lankaran is 3 hours driving distance. Our First stop is Circular Castle & Old Prison (Round Tower or Zindan Tower). Zindan Tower was constructed as part of Lankaran fortress and was a crucial element in the city's defense system. Located right past the small bridge leading into the center of the city, this old circular building is hidden by enormous acacias and fig trees -- with only the top tower visible, where branches stick out of broken windows. In pre-Soviet years, up to the early 20th century, Zindan Tower was used as a prison where Joseph Stalin was detained. Though, the building is no longer open to visitors, the guests can see the building from outside at closer range. Guests spend here approximately 15-20 minutes.

2

Our Second destination is Lankaran Khan's House: The History Museum. The distance from Zindan Tower to this point is only 5 minutes by car. The Khan's House in Lankaran is a building erected in 1913 by order of Mir Ahmed Khan, a descendant of the Talysh Khan Mirmustafa Khan, in honor of his wife Tugra Khan. The Lankaran Khan's Palace was built in 1913 by architects invited from Europe by order of Mir Ahmed Khan, a descendant of the Khan. All the construction materials used here were brought by ship from Baku. This magnificent building was the first multi-storey building in Lankaran. The facade of the building is decorated with mythological figures. The building had electric lighting and heating for the first time even before the revolution. Currently, this magnificent building houses the Lankaran City History and Local Lore Museum. Guests will spend here 30 minutes.

3

Next point is Tea Factory & Plantation. Driving distance from Khan Palace to this point is only 5 minutes. Lankaran is historically renowned for its high-quality fragrant tea and tea growing also began to blossom here in the 1930s and quickly developed into a symbol of Lankaran – look out for the giant samovar monument that greets visitors upon entering the city! Guests will spent here 30 minutes.

4

Tour continues to Bamboo plantation in Talishli village. Driving distance from Tea Plantation to this point is 15 minutes. One of the unique spots in Lankaran is the bamboo plantation in Talishli village. Here, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into Japan for an instant. Guests will spent here 30 minutes.
