Welcome to The Vasa Museum considered as one TOP 10 museums in the World and is a must while visiting Stockholm.
Commissioned by King Gustav II Adolf during Sweden's Great Power Era, this war ship was built between 1626 and 1628 and was to be the most powerful warship not only in the Baltic Sea, but in the entire world.
The Vasa Museum, ranked as one of the best 10 museums in the World is a must while visiting Stockholm.
Commissioned in the 1620s during Sweden's Great Power Era by King Gustav II Adolf, this Royal war ship was to be the most powerful warship not only in the Baltic Sea, but perhaps in the entire world.
But only 20 minutes after its departure on her maiden voyage, the Vasa capsized and sank into the Stockholm Harbor.
After lying on the seabed of the Baltic Sea for 333 years, the Vasa was "rediscovered" and salvaged. The Vasa is one of Sweden's treasures. It is the only and best preserved 1600's galleon of its kind in the entire World.
The Vasa does not appear to be a ship that was wrecked, but rather it seems to be a ship awaiting her next trip.
