According to the legend, long ago, there were a young man and a woman who lived in upper and lower village on the Enguri river fell in love. As the both villagers did not consent to their marriage. They made their house (this tower) on this river bank between the villages and lived. The residents of this village, Bogreshi village-Iphari Community, are their descendant now.
Ushguli Ethnographic Museum is a 13th century two-story residential building, the so-called "Machub Hall". In the museum you will be able to get acquainted with the type of Svan dwelling, the way of life there and many interesting ethnographic materials. Here you will find agricultural and military tools, cult items, old wooden furniture, iron and clay household items, etc. The first floor was intended to be used as a common storage area for servants and goods in winter. Stalls for goods and people are separated from each other by a carved wooden partition. Here you will see a makhvshi chair, a carved treasure and other interesting household items. On the second floor, there are two ancient wooden beds, an arched stall for goats and sheep, a kitchen, the so-called "bojar", with its equipment, a Swan cradle, a 17th century horizontal weaving table with its attributes and others. Ushguli Ethnographic Museum is one of the interesting places to learn about the Svan culture.
