This tour is special because it combines the excitement of an e-bike excursion with the discovery of the natural and historical treasures of northern Sardinia. Starting from Castelsardo, you will cross breathtaking landscapes such as Cala Ostina and visit iconic sites such as the Roccia dell'Elefante and the Nuraghe Paddaggiu. The ascent to Monte Ossoni offers spectacular views, all guided by a local expert. It is a unique experience that combines adventure and culture in an unforgettable setting.
The Elephant Rock is a rock formation located near Castelsardo, Sardinia. This natural monument, sculpted by wind and rain erosion, has a characteristic shape reminiscent of a seated elephant with a well-defined trunk. The rock, of volcanic origin, is about 4 metres high and inside it also has small domus de janas, ancient prehistoric tombs carved into the rock. It is one of the most famous attractions in the area, framed by a picturesque Mediterranean landscape.
The Nuraghe Paddaggiu, whose name in Sardinian means ‘haystack’, is an important archaeological site located along the road from Castelsardo to Valledoria, near the Roccia dell'Elefante. The nuraghe represents one of the most significant finds in the area, dating back to the Nuragic period, a civilisation that flourished in Sardinia from the Bronze Age until the 2nd century B.C., at the height of the Roman era.
The nuraghe was built on a hill, as was customary in order to obtain a strategic view of the surrounding territory. Originally, the complex consisted of a main tower with the typical ‘tholos’ roof, a bastion with two lateral towers, and a strong surrounding wall that also enclosed the area occupied by the village of stone huts, topped with thatched roofs.
The tour will mainly take place in the territory of Castelsardo, on the scenic roads surrounding the area. The first stop will be at Cala Ostina, with its golden sands, and then we will move in the direction of the summit of Monte Ossoni from where we can admire the panorama from above.
