Explore nearly 1,700 years of history of Split and Trogir. Travel in comfort with our air-conditioned cars and vans, with local English-speaking drivers at your service for the whole day!
Our journey begins in the morning, with a pleasant drive over the bay of Ston, the Pelješac bridge and the Neretva valley, we arrive in Split. Our first stop is the medieval fortress of Klis, which is located at a height of 360 meters above the city of Split. From the fort there is a beautiful view of Split and the bay of Kaštela. After viewing the fortress, we descend towards the city of Split itself, followed by a tour of the narrow center of the old town (Diocletian's cellars, the church of St. Dujam, the Peristyle) and free time for lunch. We head towards Trogir by the fast road (it is also possible to stop in the ruins of the ancient Salona), followed by a tour of picturesque Trogir and return to Dubrovnik.

The Klis Fortress is a medieval fortress situated above the city of Split. The fortress was built at the altitude of 360 meters for the purpose of controlling invasions of the enemies. Due to its strategic position between two mountains, Kozjak and Mosor, the fortress played a major role in defense of entire Dalmatia, especially when it comes to Ottomans and their invasions.
The most important attraction is the historic old town, which is located on a small island and can be reached via 2 small bridges. This island was created when the Romans of that time separated the city center from the mainland by building trenches.
Above all, the city’s culture was characterized by the influence of the Greeks, the Romans and the Venetians. In the heyday from the 13th to the 16th century, the most impressive buildings and attractions of Trogir were created, and it seems that the old town has hardly changed from then until today. To preserve this, the unique old town complex was declared as a World Heritage Site in 1997.
The whole complex occupied around 30,000 square meters. Today these ruins lie in the heart of the city of Split in Croatia.
The ancient fortress has become the old town of Split, with numerous shops, cafes, restaurants and also apartments, located in the old buildings on narrow streets of the palace/fortress.
