Pickup included
Early in the morning, around 2:30, you will be picked up from your hotel in El Gouna or its vicinity, to travel in an air-conditioned minibus or car, to Cairo. The journey lasts around 5 hours.
At the half-way point you will stop for a rest and a break at a service station. The day will be long, and full of excitement, so we recommend you sleep through this part of the journey, taking you through the desert, where there isn't so much to see.
When you arrive in Cairo your guide will be waiting for you by the Egyptian Museum. He will accompany you the whole day.
The first thing you will see is the Egyptian Museum. Your guide will take you through the vast museum, showing you the masterworks of the collection, and explaining them expertly. By the time you're finished it will be midday, and time for lunch.
After lunch you will go to see the pyramids of Giza. You can examine each of the pyramids from outside at your pleasure, and with a little luck (there is a limited number of guests allowed inside each day) enter the chambers inside, for an extra fee. After this exploration of history, you will have a chance to see Egyptian life as it is today, in the Khan-el-Khalili bazaar. It is the largest bazaar in the whole of the Middle East, and still retains its characteristic ancient flavor.
The return journey to Hurghada/El Gouna is at around 17:00.
