Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Leave Rome early in the morning aboard a comfortable Mercedes van with air conditioning. You’ll traverse through scenic Campanian countryside and coastal roads. Enjoy views of Mt. Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples as you head south. Short comfort stops break up the drive, ensuring a relaxing journey. This scenic departure sets the tone for a day of unforgettable sights and experiences.

2

Mid-morning, arrive in the Sorrento area, famous for its IGP lemons. There you’ll visit a local distillery to see how homemade limoncello is produced. You’ll taste the authentic artisanal limoncello, often paired with a local pastry, all against a breathtaking backdrop of the Bay of Naples. The Sorrento lemon grown here gives the liqueur its intense aroma and flavor. This stop is both cultural and sensory: enjoy the authentic taste of the coast while admiring the sea view.

3

Continue to the lively town of Sorrento, perched on a scenic promontory overlooking the Amalfi Coast. You’ll have about 1.5 hours free time to explore. Stroll the charming streets lined with shops selling local crafts (great for picking up limoncello and souvenirs) or enjoy lunch at a traditional trattoria (not included). Take in views of the famous lemon gardens and terraced orchards surrounding Sorrento. After a refreshing break, set off again toward the ancient ruins of Pompeii.

4
Stop 4

In the afternoon you arrive at the Pompeii archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A certified guide will lead you, with skip-the-line tickets, through the highlights of the ancient city: the Forum, temples, baths, theater, and well-preserved streets. Hear fascinating stories about the Roman citizens who lived here before Vesuvius erupted in AD 79 and marvel at the “well-preserved buildings” that make Pompeii “the only archaeological site in the world that provides a complete picture of an ancient Roman city”. After about 2 immersive hours exploring Pompeii’s ruins, relax on the return drive back to Rome.
