Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

A former military garrison, built in the late 18th century, it is now an excellent craft market where you can spend time browsing and, if you wish, purchase the most beautiful local handicrafts.

2
Stop 2

Beautiful colonial square where the former convent of San Diego (current School of Fine Arts) and the former convent of Santa Clara (current Hotel Sofitel Legend Santa Clara) are located, restaurants such as Juan Del Mar, La Cevicheria famous for the visit of Anthony Bourdain

3

Our friend, yours and mine, Santiago Gonzales, will delight us with an excellent explanation of the traditional and well-known Colombian coffee. He is the fourth generation of a traditional coffee-growing family. If you're interested, this is the place to buy the best specialty coffee (not commercial).

4
Stop 4

A must-see, or rather... you can't miss the former Claustro de la Merced, which currently serves as the headquarters of Cartagena's public university and a theater where important events such as the classical music festival, literature festival, film festival, and many others are held. For Gabriel García Márquez fans, his ashes and a small museum are located there.

5
Stop 5

This is the site of the city's oldest civil buildings, namely the Convent of Santo Domingo. It also houses a sculpture by Fernando Botero, a famous Colombian sculptor and painter born in Medellín, Antioquia.

6
Stop 6

One of the oldest churches in Cartagena, the Cathedral of Saint Catherine of Alexandria in Cartagena de Indias is a stunning example of colonial architecture and a historical and artistic treasure of the city. Founded in the 16th century, the cathedral has witnessed the history of Cartagena de Indias and has been restored and preserved to be appreciated by current and future generations.

7

A jewel of Colonial religious architecture, this church is where Pedro Claver (canonized in 1888) long served the slaves and other residents of Cartagena. It is also home to the naval museum and some of the city's best restaurants.

8

Square that houses the house where the city hall, the SENA institution and modern buildings whose anecdotes will be talked about today operate

9

Formerly the Slave Square, it now serves as a meeting place. It also houses the Sweets Gate and some of the city's renowned bars and restaurants.

10

A place where free slaves and indigenous people lived during the colonial era, currently a colorful and beautiful neighborhood just outside the walls of Cartagena de Indias, where you can see graffiti and a lot of street art.
