Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at our meeting point, where we’ll equip you with a state-of-the-art e-bike, helmet, recommended route, and cell phone holder. Following a brief safety and training session to ensure all riders are confident, you’ll set off on a journey that seamlessly blends exploration and tranquility.

The scenic route takes you through downtown Wilmington and along the renowned River to Sea Bike way. This dedicated bike path offers a serene escape, with winding stretches framed by lush greenery and breathtaking natural vistas.

Disclaimer: Our self-guided routes are intended for people who are able to strongly navigate on their own. These routes are not for beginners.

Detailed itinerary

Before the Airlie Gardens, we will take an e-bike ride from downtown Wilmington, NC to the botanical gardens. On this route, we will ride both on-road (shared lanes with vehicles) as well as off-road (dedicated bike routes). The route is beautiful, showing you some of the best parts of downtown while also venturing further inland, through beautiful nature-rich areas.

Airlie’s historic property encompasses more than 67 acres of spectacular gardens, seasonal blooms, mighty live oaks, walking trails and historic structures. The self-guided walking experience allows visitors to explore more than a dozen gardens; including the Pergola, Minnie Evans Bottle Chapel & a seasonal Butterfly House.

What's not included

Entry to the gardens is not included. Guests will enjoy a discounted rate.

Due to the high performance of our e-bikes, we have a weight limits for each. Maximum weight for the larger e-bikes is 260 lbs. and maximum weight for the smaller e-bikes ranges between 200 lbs. and 240 lbs. It is important that persons over 260 lbs. do not book this tour.
