Take a day to truly enjoy the wine and redwoods of Sonoma County through the eyes of the passionate and fun guides who know it best. This full-day tour is designed for small groups who want to learn, have fun, and get a local feel for the wineries and redwoods just north of San Francisco.
We purposefully choose NOT to go to Muir Woods, which is overrun with crowds and prevents our guests from fully enjoying the majesty of the Redwoods. Instead, we go to Armstrong Woods, which has older and taller trees, and far less crowds. The experience is for people that want to truly and fully experience the Giant California Coastal Redwoods. .

We cross the iconic Golden Gate Bridge on our way to Wine country. We will stop at the best view locations for a perfect picture to start the day.
Gureneville is a small town outside of Armstrong woods that has been around for over 125 years. A perfect location for a stop after the drive to San Francisco before entering the woods
Armstrong woods is a much better alternative to the Muir Woods. It is a less-crowded redwood forest with 1400 year old trees trees that soar 300 feet over the valley floor. These are the tallest living things on the planet. Armstrong woods is a perfect place to enjoy the grandeur of nature without crowds.
Hook & Ladder is an “estate” producer, specializing in small bottlings of Pinot Noir, “Old Vine” Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-style blends sourced from the family’s sustainably-farmed vineyards in Russian River Valley and its sub-appellation, Chalk Hill. The winery also produces and sells estate-grown Olive Oil from trees grown at their Los Amigos Ranch.
It is a boutique winery that offers an intimate tasting in the vineyards of the Russian River Valley of Sonoma county.
After the tasting, there will be a picnic lunch on the grounds of Hook and Ladder.
