Our day begins with pickup from your La Fortuna hotel. Look for wildlife on the drive from La Fortuna, and then follow an expert local guide through the jungle on the trek to Rio Celeste, known for its mystical aquamarine waters. This is the perfect way to explore outside the city and see what makes Costa Rica a top attraction for nature lovers.
Next, we’ll arrive at a local restaurant and swimming spot for a refreshing swim and a typical Costa Rican lunch. After refueling, we’ll continue on to a local Maleku indigenous village.
Here, we’ll begin by sipping on sacred cacao, as we listen to the colorful story of the Maleku people. Embody your inner warrior as you try your hand at traditional archery. Be wowed at the creativity of the indigenous people as you see how they use the bounty of the jungle to create medicine and useful products for everyday life. Finally, master the art of jicara carving as you create your own unique souvenir to take home with you.
