The palace, which has served as the primary residence of Emperor Haile Selassie I was originally named the Jubilee Palace in honor of the Emperor’s Silver Jubilee observed in 1955. The National Palace Museum exhibits Ethiopia's rich heritage and treasures, include Ethiopian history and culture, the emperor's collection of luxury cars and train wagons, and exhibits of royal regalia and artifacts.
