Detailed itinerary

1

Shusha, the former capital of the Karabakh Khanate, is not only a natural gem in the mountains of the Lesser Caucasus but also the cultural capital of Azerbaijan. The city is famous for its rich musical and literary heritage, as well as its unique carpet-weaving traditions. Ancient landmarks such as the Shusha Fortress, built in the 18th century by Panah Ali Khan, have been preserved here. The nature of Shusha is breathtaking at first glance. The view from Jidir Plain, a plateau in the southern part of the city, offers a stunning landscape of the Dashalty River valley and the Lesser Caucasus mountains. Among the city's historical monuments are the Gohar Agha Mosques, built at the end of the 19th century by the daughter of the Karabakh Khan. These mosques, known for their twin minarets, were damaged during the First Karabakh War but have been restored, and one of them – the Yukari (Upper) Gohar Agha Mosque – is now a national heritage site.

2

The Juma Mosque in Agdam is one of the main historical and architectural landmarks of the city. The building stands out with its two minarets and distinctive Karabakh architectural style. After recent restoration, it has once again become a place of pilgrimage.

3

The Askeran Fortress, located in the heart of Karabakh, was built in the 18th century and served as a strategic defensive structure.

Khankendi is a city in Karabakh that attracts tourists with its unique history, nature, and culture. Situated on a high plateau surrounded by picturesque mountains, it is particularly appealing to nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
