The Alcantara Gorges will be the first stop of the tour. It is a place where the 8000 year erosive process of the river flowing over the basalt rock has created a deep gorge, forming small beaches in the banks. A place of particular natural beauty. In this place you can also walk within the shallow waters of the river inside the gorge, being able to admire the sheer shaped walls. If you wish not to enter the river, then admire the majesty of these unique geological structures from outside.
The Gurne dell'Alcantara are natural pools formed through the erosion of some waterfalls in the rock. You will be able to admire the lush fauna and flora, enjoying the gurgling of the river and the waterfalls.
Castiglione di Sicilia is a medieval village that dominates the Alcantara Valley. Here we will take a short walk to admire the view from above near the very high cliff on which the Lauria castle and the basilica of San Giacomo are built. In Castiglione we will also take a short break in a typical pastry shop, where we can taste the famous cannoli and homemade granitas.
In this vineyard, located at a thousand meters above sea level on Etna, the Nerello Mascalese grape is grown and the winemaking is carried out. The tasting involves the presentation of five distinct glasses: three white wines and two reds, accompanied by a typical lunch. The food and wine experience begins at the table, guided by the sommelier's explanations. Before or after the event, it will be possible to walk through the vineyards and visit the area dedicated to winemaking.
