Detailed itinerary

1

This captivating Piedras Rojas, Altiplanic Lagoons and Chaxa excursion commences at the center of San Pedro city or hotels. Step into a comfortable, air-conditioned private vehicle, embarking on a 1-hour journey through the scenic beauty of Chile.

2

The monumental landmark of the Tropic of Capricorn is located north of the city of Antofagasta, in front of the Andrés Sabella Airport (formerly Cerro Moreno), on the side of National Route No. 1.

3
Stop 3

The Laguna Chaxa represents one of several open water surfaces in the eastern part of the core area of the Salar de Atacama. Like some other lagoons nearby, it is superficially fed with water by the Canal Burro Muerto, which originates between the deltas of the Río San Pedro and the Río Villama, and runs through the eastern part of the salar from north to south

4

The landscape with reddish colors is located 4,200 meters above sea level and is 160 km away from San Pedro de Atacama. It is part of the Altiplanic zone of the Andes mountain range in Chile. The stones here exhibit a variety of colors and tonalities due to iron oxidation, which surprises visitors.

5

Next step is the dual lakes of Miscanti and Miñiques. The lakes are overlooked by their respective namesake volcanoes. At one point, the lakes were connected until a lava flow from the Miñiques volcano split them apart. Miscanti, which has a heart shape, is larger than its counterpart. Both lakes have a vibrant blue color. On the shores of the lakes, we were able to see herds of llama and vicuña.

6

After the guided tour, relish in 1 hour of free time. Your guide will drop you off at a convenient location, allowing you to savor lunch and indulge in some retail therapy.

7

After a day filled with delights, our comfortable private vehicle will whisk you back to your hotel or city center, brimming with cherished memories. Trust our decade-long expertise in organizing private tours and exploring the city view with utmost comfort and peace of mind.
