Silliman University is a private university in Dumaguete, Philippines. Established in 1901 as Silliman Institute by the Presbyterian Board of Foreign Missions, it is the first American and Protestant founded institution of higher learning in the Philippines and in Asia.

More popularly known as the Dumaguete Cathedral, St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral Parish is said to be the oldest stone church in all of Negros. The parish dates back to 1620, but its first stone church was constructed from 1754 to 1756 with Fr. Jose Fernandez de Septien at the helm.

The San Agustin Church was the only building left intact after the destruction of Intramuros in WWII. Built between 1587 and 1606, it is the oldest church in the Philippines. The massive facade conceals an ornate interior filled with objects of great historical and cultural merit.

Negros Oriental Arts and Heritage Center (NOAH) is located in Dumaguete City. It is is a shop in Dumaguete that sells exquisitely inlaid Philippine gemstones. A selection of designs, both produced by the shop and submitted by customers, are held on display here.
