The Korean Demilitarized Zone is a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula near the 38th parallel north. The demilitarized zone is a border barrier that divides the peninsula roughly in half.

Mangbaedan Memorial Altar with seven carved granite stones is located in South Korea, Gyeonggi-do, Paju-si, Munsan-eup, Imjingak-ro.

Mangbaedan, which stands opposite of Imjingak, is famous for the place where people from North Korea visit and perform ancestral rites by bowing toward their hometown every New Years Day and Chuseok. Chuseok is a major Korean festival.

Discovered in 1978, the 3rd Tunnel was built by North Korea for southward invasion. It is 12 km away from Munsan and 52 km from Seoul. When you arrive at the tunnel, you will first watch a 10-minute video on the Korean War and the tunnels at DMZ Theater.

Dora Observatory is on the South Korean side of the 38th parallel. Situated on top of Dorasan in Paju, the observatory provides scenic views across the Demilitarized Zone. Visitors can see the North Korean territory through binoculars from the 304 square feet, 500-person capacity observatory.

The bridge which is over 220m long and 10m high is presently the longest suspension bridge in South Korea. The suspension bridge is accessible to get to and does not require a hike. Also, do check out the stunning scenery including the wooden broad walk along the beautiful lake.
