Detailed itinerary

1

Your friendly private English-speaking guide will provide insightful commentary on the formation of Etna volcano, its history of eruptions, as well as the rich culture, myths, and folklore surrounding "Mamma Etna" and Sicily itself. As you traverse through the quaint mountain villages in the privacy of your own car, you'll be treated to unforgettable panoramic views of the Sicilian countryside, adorned with orange and lemon orchards, olive and almond groves, and charming houses and churches constructed from lava stone.

Our first stop will be in Zafferana Etnea, a picturesque village nestled on the slopes of Etna, renowned for its delicious honey. Here, you'll have the chance to visit a local honey store and sample a variety of products cultivated from the fertile volcanic terrain, including honey, olive oil, olives, wines, and liquors.

Stop 2

Continuing our ascent of Mount Etna, we'll reach the "Rifugio Sapienza" station situated at 2000 meters above sea level. Here, you can marvel at the famous Silvestri Craters, take in breathtaking panoramas, browse souvenir shops offering lava-themed gifts, or indulge in refreshments at one of the nearby bars or restaurants.

For those seeking an extra thrill, there's the option to ascend to 3000 meters with a cable car and jeep, accompanied by an authorized Alpine guide.

For logistic reasons, for guests travelling from Messina Port, we offer for a visit of the Sartorius Craters (1600 mt.) located on the North Side of Mt. Etna, which is one of the most authentic areas.
We recommend wearing comfortable closed-toe shoes and bringing extra layers, such as something warm and a windbreaker or rain jacket, to be prepared for changing weather conditions.

3
Stop 3

At the end of the tour you will have lunch in a traditional "Trattoria" and taste organic food: salami, cheese, ham, eggplant in oil, olives, caponata and then "Pasta alla norma" with local wine and sicilian dessert.
