Situated on the edge of Triglav National Park, the town of Bled has had the reputation of an extremely popular tourist destination for centuries. With the Julian Alps in the background and forested hills all around, the location is breathtakingly gorgeous. The cherry on top is of course the idyllic glacial lake with an island in the middle.

On your trip to Lake Bled you will take a ride with the traditional gondola-like boat called pletna. There is a lot to learn about the immensely rich history and legends of this wonderful place. Optionally you can also visit the church on the island.

Overlooking the lake on an enormous cliff is another important example of Slovenian cultural heritage, the 1000-year-ago Bled Castle, the oldest castle in Slovenia. The castle’s terrace offers stunning views of Lake Bled and the picturesque countryside that surrounds it.
