Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

On this Triglav National Park Tour from Ljubljana you will start your day on the boardwalks of Vintgar, the most popular gorge in Slovenia, and wear out your cameras on this 1.5 hrs walk of spectacular scenery in Triglav National Park. Please note that in winter months Vintgar is closed

2

Scenic Alpine valleys - Radovna, Krma, Vrata, Tamar and Upper Sava Valley. There, we will see a mix of beautiful forests and grazing meadows surrounded by towering peaks of the Julian Alps. Feel how the time has stopped in the tiny shepherding villages, untouched by the fast-paced tempo of the outside world.

3

The next destination is Vrata Valley (vrata=gates) in the very heart of Triglav National Park, a gate to the highest peaks of Slovenia, marked by the flow of Triglavska Bistrica stream. We will stop at Peričnik waterfall, a narrow stream of water that cascades over two ledges carved into the sheer rocks and drops into a pool below. The most unique feature of this waterfall is a footpath that leads around the falling water, allowing visitors to observe it up close and feel the spray of tiny droplets on their skins.

4

A trip in the valleys of the Julian Alps would not be complete without a stop at the cradle of the sport of ski jumping - Planica in Tamar Valley. Here you can see one of the largest ski jumping hills in the world and watch ski jumpers during training to discover a completely new appreciation for this mind-boggling sport. You can take it a notch further and try out the Planica zipline in order to really experience what these winter daredevils go through.

5

Zelenci, the source of stunning Sava Dolinka River, is an incredibly picturesque area that offers some of the best panoramic views of the mountains.

6

Our last stop of the day will be at the more lively Lake Jasna, where you can enjoy the views, go for a walk, have a drink or even swim in the refreshing mountain waters during hot summer months.
