THE ROUTE OF HOTU MATU´A (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) Length: 6 to 7 hours aprox.
Departure at 9.30 a.m. from your accommodation place in Hanga Roa town, to a full-day guided
bilingual tour (Spanish and / or English). This excursion visits part of the coast North and East of
Rapa Nui, including the Ahu Vaihu, Ahu Akahanga, burial place of our first Polynesian King (Hotu
Matu’a); Ahu Tongariki with the largest archeological restoration carried out in the 90's, with 15
Moai standing and facing inwards of the island; Ahu Te Pito Kura, where the famous round stone
that represents the center of the world is located; visit to the quarry of the Rano Raraku volcano,
where more than 1,000 Moai were built, and nowadays the process of elaboration and transport of
the ancient statues can be appreciated; Finally, the beautiful Anakena beach, with its turquoise
