If guests opt to meet us in Palmer, we start at the Palmer Visitor Center where we will review our plans for the day.
We will then load up and head to our hiking destination.
This trip travels the Eska Falls trail, a location slightly outside of the Palmer - in Sutton Alaska. This hike is located in the Talkeetna Mountains. We will hike about 11 miles starting on old mining roads in boreal forest and traveling up to alpine tundra. Our hidden waterfalls trip is an out-and-back adventure with an elevation gain of about 2,500 feet.
During our hike we'll take pauses along the way to discuss flora, fauna, the mining history of the Talkeetna Mountains, and the boreal forest.
At our turnaround point, we'll take an extended break soaking in views of the surrounding mountains (as weather permits).
We'll descend the same trail, making our way back to the trailhead.
After our adventure, we'll return to the Palmer Visitor Center and make recommendations for other things to do in the Palmer area.
We can also meet guests at the Palmer Visitor Center and Museum for this adventure. You are welcome to park your vehicle in their parking lot or in the larger lot across the street.
