The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut in Deir el-Bahari consists of three terraced courtyards covered in sculptured reliefs. The three layered terraces reaching 30 m in height are connected by long ramps which were once surrounded by gardens. Corresponds with the classical Theban form, the top and bottom of the ramp is flanked by pairs of lions to the Middle Terrace which survive today. The first and oldest queen is showed on the painted walls in different attitudes; standing, sitting and kneeling. Observe her and wonder!
Valley of the Kings is where the golden treasures of King Tut-Ench-Amun are lying with his original accessories in his tomb. Look up and down the writings on the walled sides of each tomb which recorded the story of each King in the hieroglyphic language.
Karnak Temple is the largest worshipped place ever built worldwide. Dedicated to god Amun, Mut and Khonsu; the grand place is still capable of overshadowing many wonders of the modern world. Your tour guide will lead you around the ruins of the temple which was a place of pilgrimage for nearly 2000 years. Wander through the 134 columns featured Hypostyle Hall; the still largest room of any religious building of the world. Walk around it and take your time!
Two gigantic statues, seated and rested on a huge granite plinth, are the landmark of the west bank. Watch the dedication texts of Amenhotep III on the columns at the rear of the statues and do not skip the legs of the king’s statues which are flanked by smaller images of the Great Royal Wife and his mother.
